Organisation Spotlight: Maryport Rescue

Maryport Rescue are an Independent Organisation and registered charity 1113807

We serve the community and the wider communities by providing a Lifeboat Rescue service covering the Solway Firth, a Flood, Swift Water Rescue Service and a Search & Rescue Service for Lost, Missing, Vulnerable and despondent persons, covering the whole of Cumbria.

We are listed on the National Asset Register for flood and can be deployed nationally when requested.

We are on call 24/7 365 days to respond to calls for assistance from HM Coastguard, Cumbria Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue,  also national resilience for flood.

All our rescuers are volunteers, trained to National and International standards. We have a busy fundraising calendar every year combined with successful applications, our Lifeboat Lottery, donations, bequeathments and public donations all help to keep the service running, as we need to find around £42k a year to operate.
